Healing: Allow your body to help you feel light again

September last year, I was out at night again after two long years of mostly being by myself, sitting in my pain and trying to manage through a very dark and difficult time.


I was nervous, knowing I would be faced with a lot of things that could cause anxiety, flashbacks or worst case a panic attack. But none of that happened.


I knew I owed it to myself to have fun that night and let lose. And I did.


I just started feeling into the music, trying to connect to my body in a room full of other people dancing, and I just closed my eyes. Turned out I had no problem at all to let lose, in fact my body took over and I ended up dancing 5 hours nonstop all by myself. I felt like I lost a ton of weight, all the heaviness I was carrying with me for way too long just fell off me and I was free.

Dancing for me has always been a way to feel and be in my body.


It’s medicine and therapy and celebration all in one. And I believe our bodies are made to dance.


And no, it doesn’t matter how it looks, it’s about how you feel. So close your eyes. Whether you dance alone at home or you do it at a rave (I do both), let your body take over. Let yourself feel. Because sometimes we all feel heavy of things we carry that were never ours to carry.

You have permission to let go. You have permission to feel light again.
